This Paralegal Specialist position is in the Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Banking & Finance (B&F), within the Office of General Counsel (OGC). The ideal candidate will handle complex document reviews, document productions, and electronic discovery (e-discovery) matters.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Develop, conduct, and assist with document searches and reviews in the context of litigation, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, oversight requests, and similar projects, including reviews for responsiveness, privilege, and application of FOIA exemptions, and perform quality control before delivery to attorneys.
Consult with legal teams to identify best practices and establish legally sufficient and cost-effective processes for the identification, preservation, collection, review, and presentation of paper and electronic documents for discovery, oversight, and other purposes.
Develop and maintain project plans to effectively communicate timeline, budget, and possible risks to legal teams.
Provide hands-on support to attorneys in the development, implementation, and support of efficient, cost-effective e-discovery processes, case automation systems, and practice support applications, such as NUIX Discover.
Coordinate with information technology office regarding the management of technical services related to e-discovery and document productions.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience managing the use and maintenance of e-discovery technology tools such as NUIX Discover, Autonomy, Encase, or Symantec Clearwell, as well as SharePoint; AND
Managing document reviews, document productions and electronic discovery (e-discovery) matters; AND
Advising attorneys or other professionals on e-discovery case management.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience utilizing e-discovery technology tools such as NUIX Discover, Autonomy, Encase, or Symantec Clearwell, as well as SharePoint; AND
Completing document reviews, document productions and electronic discovery (e-discovery) matters; AND
Assisting attorneys or other professionals on e-discovery management.
