This position is located at the Department of Veteran Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Erie, VA Medical Center, Facilities Management Service, Maintenance and Repair Section. Performing a variety of task involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.

Duties

Painting and refinishing furniture, wood and metal, such as desk, cabinets, chairs, operating rooms and laundry equipment. Constructing and repairing a wide variety of structural items such as building frames, rafters, walls staircases, door and window frames, interior and exterior trim, miscellaneous items such as workbenches, counter tops, bookcases, etc. Installing, modifying and repairing new and existing, utility, supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil and gas distribution systems, water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems and showers Installing new roof, including metal flashing gutters and other roofing accessories, and repair or replace sheathing, boards, beams and joints Act as backup to the facility locksmith: includes maintenance and repair of all locks at the station, recoding locks, coding keys, making keys, building cores and maintaining a master lock registry, record of the key and associated locks.
