Duties
As a Supervisory Logistics Management, you will perform the following duties:
Develop, direct, and perform the entire life cycle of logistics management operations, operations and maintenance systems, and the services that may improve overall systems performance ensuring the application of the latest advances in science and the conduct of analytical studies designed to enhance local forecasting techniques at the mesoscale level in order to meet local needs.
Implement inventory management practices such as resource estimates, financial management, accountability, forecast and demand planning, and control of critical and national stock level using automated tools and software programs.
Conduct studies of employee and organizational efficiency and productivity and recommend improvements in research, work methods, and procedures. Maintain and improve the complex set of interrelationships between the National Weather Service (NWS), public, government agencies, the media, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other weather user interests.
Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative and manage contracts to ensure effective and efficient design, construction, and operation.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-14 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Overseeing the procurement of parts, supplies, and services to complex surface and upper air observational equipment;
Applying inventory management techniques utilizing automated tools and software programs to direct critical and national stock level;
Conducting studies of employee and organizational productivity proposing improvements in research, work methods, and procedures; and
Overseeing contractor's performance initiating performance inspections and resolving contract issues.
