About the Position: . Serve as the Senior Advisor and Liaison for Policy & Readiness to the Chief of Legislative Liaison with the responsibility to advise on policy and funding provisions related to all authorization legislation. The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Duties

Coordinate and address all oversight committee Questions for the Record (QFRs) and Insert for the Record (IFRs) with staff following congressional hearings. Monitor legislation as it moves through the congressional process. Prepare senior leaders for annual testimony with regard to the agency's posture and budget requests before the House and Senate Armed Services Committees. Serve as the authority on Congressional rules/procedures to include Congressional floor procedures. Provide background information and advice on past agency Congressional issues. Organize engagements/briefings for members of Congress, Congressional Committees and agency staff in support of Agency's Legislative objectives.

Specialized experience is defined as: serve as an advisor/liaison for a legislative affairs department; provide technical guidance/oversight for policy and readiness; develop/execute communication strategies in areas such as: broad congressional engagement plans, member and staff briefings, and/or issuance of Information for Members of Congress (IMCs) on politically sensitive issues; and develop congressional engagement strategies for senior leaders to educate and inform Congress on agency policies, plans, and programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Research Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
