You will serve as a RIGGER in the Weight Test (72D), Crane and Rigging Operations Division (Code220), Waterfront Support Department (Code 200), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Duties
You will be responsible for the planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, testing, and installing complex weight handling gear and various standing and running rigging to move and/or remove.
You will plan rigging jobs for movement of shipboard components, equipment, or material through confined submarine, shop, and other areas.
You will provide direction to crane operators to provide for the safe and effective movement of items to and from submarines, shops and other areas.
You will operate material handling equipment such as, but not limited to forklifts, JLG man-lift high reach equipment, trucks.
You will manufacture, fabricate and repair standing and running rigging required to support movement of items with cranes or weight handling equipment.
You will perform assignments outside work area in conjunction with management need/workload.
You will be required to travel as the need arises for the purposes of training, attendance at meeting, and participation in the work efforts at the other shore activities and on-board ships and submarines at sea.
You will follow written and oral instructions as provided by management with minimum supervision.
You will be required to maintain work area in a neat, clean safe and orderly manner.
You will perform duties that involve exposure to a variety of industrial working conditions and environments.
Requirements

- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Ability to plan, lay out, assemble, repair, test, and install complex weight handling gear and various standing.
Ability to run rigger to move, remove, and position various large and heavy items 9e.g., heavy machinery and equipment, large structural parts, and other heavy loads) to, from, and throughout submarines, shops, and various other refit work areas.
Ability to plan and select proper and safe method for attaching hoisting and pulling equipment necessary to perform test on weightlifting and handling equipment.
