This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as a Maintenance Control Technician responsible for the ongoing maintenance, control and administration of a comprehensive preventive maintenance control program and automated data system, Facilities Equipment Maintenance System (FEM).
Duties
You will serve as project advisor and systems administrator on functions/features of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as FEM/MAXIMO.
Document current and future maintenance in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Answer inquiries about work order status and maintenance history.
Schedule preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
Verify work order information for completeness and accuracy.
Track planned and expended labor and materials.
Coordinate with the administrative/budget sections to assure proper accounting and appropriate funds are available for maintenance and repairs.
Coordinate resolutions to conflicts in scheduling equipment and/or manpower for maintenance/repairs.

Minimum Qualifications for GS-09:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes experience with managing the repair and maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment common to marine facilities or industrial facilities using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
