As a Financial Management Analyst, you will plan and carry out a wide range of board financial management program activities, projects and tasks in financial systems and financial management focusing on accounts receivable transactions and reporting.
This position is located in Accounting & Financial Operations within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer to be filled in one of the following locations: Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, or Washington, DC
Duties
As a Financial Management Specialist, focused on Accounts Receivables on the Accounting & Financial Operations team, you will:
Analyze a wide range of problems and issues involving accounts receivable using accepted financial and accounting methods to reconcile financial data and to record accounting transactions.
Review and interpret relevant federal statutes, regulations, and financial management requirements and participates with other specialists in analytical assignments involving broad compliance activities.
Respond to a wide range of data calls and requests by providing relevant information regarding difficult or unusual financial management and accounting data in automated systems.
Maintain fiscally responsible management controls systems, including a quality assurance program, to effectively support program audits and respond to findings and audit information for program improvement.
Serve as a technical point of contact for the full range of issues, projects, and activities regarding broad financial management and accounting systems. Apply analytical and statistical principles/techniques in financial management reviews of systems data.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level in the Federal service. To qualify for the NB-V level, you must have specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level, NB-IV or GS-11.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Analyzing financial management systems or reports to assess compliance of financial and/or accounting rules, policies, or regulations; AND
Evaluating financial data including accounts receivable, using accepted financial and accounting methods to reconcile data to record accounting transactions.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
