About the Position: This is a Painter Supervisor, WS-4108-08, position located at the Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (JMTC).
This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 13 months position. It is time limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
Duties
Selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed.
Plans and prescribes deadlines and work sequence for individual workers based on guidance received.
Review work-related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity.
Explains work requirements, methods and procedures to subordinates.
Initiates implementation of personnel management programs.

- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Painter Supervisor~ without more than normal supervision. review instructions received to ensure that adequate resources (e.g. personnel, materials, equipment) are at the worksite; plan work sequences to ensure deadlines are met; knowledge of painting/coating processes and equipment to explain operating requirements/procedures to subordinates. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Work requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, crouching and arm movement. Paints from ladders, scaffolds and platforms. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to forty pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in shop areas. May be exposed to eye, skin, nose, and lung irritations from glue, banding chemicals, vapors, splinters and sawdust. May be exposed to the possibility of broken bones, cuts and serious injuries while operating machines. May be required to wear protective equipment and clothing.
