This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Global, Operations Division Current Operations Branch.
Duties
Oversees the execution of Command and Control of Defensive Cyber Operations to ensure security and stability of networks.
Coordinates watch floor manning requirements to ensure continuous coverage.
Monitors Information Systems Network health to create a timely and efficient resolution of network issues.
Provides timely, accurate and relevant information/updates to leadership and customers.
Monitors voice, video, and data C4 (Command and Control, Communications, and Computer) networks to ensure security.
Implements emergency notification procedures in response to security events and initiates service restoration actions upon identification of a network disruption.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
- Subject to varying work shifts for mission support requirements of 7 days per week, 24-hours per day.
- Overtime may be required as workload demands.
- This is a drug test designated position.
- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential".
- This position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications and Residential Qualifications in accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as leading a team to provide direct customer service for problems and known issue resolutions; improving and resolving issues with Information Technology (IT) customer service; developing and delivering oral and written communications regarding Cyberspace incidents and events; and executing command and control over network operations and incident management events.
