About the Position: Works with the SHARP Program Manager and Command Staff to manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program for the Garrison Commander. This position is located in Fort Eisenhower, Gerogia.

Duties

Works with the SHARP Program Manager and Command Staff to manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program for the Brigade Commander. Provides policy, guidance and other information for victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault, subordinate unit commanders, first responders, and those who seek to prevent or respond to sexual harassment and sexual assault. Provides information to Soldiers, employees, managers, and family members at all levels, concentrating on systemic problems as well as individual problems. Provides program direction and guidance to all concerning reporting procedures, confidentiality, training, safety tips and resources. Conducts prevention activities in an effort to reduce or eliminate sexual harassment and sexual assault. Plans, organizes staffs, carries out reviews and evaluates a positive management oriented SHARP program that includes efforts to resolve systemic problems.

Requirements

  • Individuals will be screened by the National Sex Offender Registry.
  • Individuals will be screened by the through the Crime Records Center and the Army Central Registry for a history of domestic violence.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a Secret clearance.
  • Background checks against all records required by law, Office of Personnel Management, Department of Defense, and Army will be conducted prior to entering on duty, and, IAW governing regulations, on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
  • Minimum of a Tier 3 background investigation, or equivalent, and enrollment in Continuous Evaluation are required.
  • State Criminal History Repository check is required for all states of residence in the previous five and/or up to ten years.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
  • Must successful complete 80-hour SHARP Course and obtain DOD Certification within 6-months of hire.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
  • Must be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Social Work, Counseling, or Public Health. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
