You will serve as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist (Material Sourcing/Project Management Branch Head) in the Material Sourcing Division, Supply & Logistics Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees. You will work with assigned Project Management personnel to develop a Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) to guide the Supply and Logistics Department efforts for successful project completion. You will track funds expenditure, schedule adherence, and manning rates associated with the Supply and Logistics Department. You will coordinate the efforts of the Supply and Logistics Department and their collective efforts in association with other organizational elements of the Shipyard (such as Business Office, Operations Division, etc.) to ensure a successful project. You will facilitate acquisition of funding and technical guidance information necessary to accomplish assigned tasks. You will brief all levels of Navy industrial and fleet management, both civilian and military.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You must be willing and able to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays).
  • You may be required to visit local Navy ships and/or waterfront sites with occasional off-station ship checks.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector forecasting and planning supply availability to coordinate material support projects for the overhaul, refueling, alteration, repair or maintenance of surface ships or submarines.
