About the Position: Mobilization and Readiness Specialist for the US Army Military District of Washington, an Army Major Command, and the Joint Task Force -National Capital Region, a Component Command of US Northern Command with primary staff responsibility to review, analyze, coordinate, and consolidate the Army's unit readiness and the Department of Defense Readiness Reporting System; and review, update, plan, and develop mobilization plans, training and manning.

Duties

Track and maintain Unit Status Reporting data for organizations in area of responsibility. Develop, write and disseminate local directives and special instructions for units to use to assure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting of the unit's status. Conduct Commander's Unit Status Reporting classes and provides guidance to officers and NCO's preparing the reports. Maintain and exercise administrative control of the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Army (DRRS-Army) database in accordance with DRRS-Army--Basic Identity Data Elements (BIDE), and FORSCOM Regulation, Basic Identity and General Status Reporting. Develop operational concepts and procedures for mobilization plan/revision update. Advise the Commander and staff on all matters concerning mobilization training. Determine requirements for personnel, equipment, materials, funding resources, and training to sustain mobilization planning efforts.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing strategic plans and procedures which support complex Commander Unit Readiness reporting, planning, operations and the mobilization operations process; 2) analyzing unit status readiness, mobilization orders and organizational taskings for technical quality while identifying deficiencies/shortfalls; 3) coordinating unit status readiness programs, projects, mobilization actions and activities across internal and external organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet all aligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
