Join the NIH Library Leadership Team in Bethesda, MD as Chief of the Research Analytics Branch. Oversee bibliometrics, research data services, and bioinformatics services in support of NIH intramural research, and develop new services to further open science and data sharing at NIH. Duties
Identifies and establishes Branch priorities and develops long term, mid-term, and short-term goals and objectives in support of the NIH Library goals.
Trains, monitors and oversees information and statistical professionals, who provide data management, bibliometrics, bioinformatics, biostatistics and data visualization for NIH Library customers.
Oversees the development and implementation of Library research analytics training for medical and scientific professionals and researchers, clinicians and nurses, and other NIH Library users within NIH and HHS.
Collaborates with other NIH Library Branch Chiefs to negotiate and coordinate interrelated matters.
Plans, directs, and coordinates the work of the biomedical librarians and technical information specialists, who work with scientists, researchers, and medical professionals in selected ICs or their branches, labs, or offices.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Technical Information Specialist, GS-1412 position you must have:
A. a full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled; OR
B. 4 years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience is equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum; OR
C. a combination of education and experience as described above.
In addition, in order to qualify for a Supervisory Technical Information Specialist, GS-1412 position at the GS-14 level, you must have: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing research analytics programs for a biomedical or research library; managing bibliometric, bioinformatic, and biostatistical services to support researchers; developing strategic plans for research analytics programs to support library goals; developing policies and procedures for research analytics programs within a biomedical or research library.
