This position is located at Departmental Offices,Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Intelligence Analysis. As a/an Security Specialist, you will be a junior member of a team that implements and administers the personnel, information, physical, industrial security, Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD12) and special access program.

Duties

Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. - Review, evaluate and adjudicate personnel security investigations conducted by OPM and other investigative department agencies - Assist in updating the security education training tools on the security program web portal. - Provide research and responses to Director/Deputy Director OSP questions and issues. - Contribute towards a broad range of analytical and short-suspense assignments involving CI-related activities across the Department.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the grade 05 level, you must meet the following requirements: Experience: For the GS-05, you must have three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service. General experience includes: - Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; AND - Planning and organizing work; AND - Communicating effectively orally and in writing. OR You may substitute education for general experience as follows: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
