Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion to optimize business results and customer experience by: Supervising and overseeing the development of Departmental policies and the establishment of workgroups related to EEO, and Diversity & Inclusion, Disability, Special Emphasis Programs, Reasonable Accommodation, Employee Resource Groups, or Barrier Analysis, etc. Providing technical advice to supervisors, managers, employees, applicants, human capital and workforce development teams, advocacy groups and EEO/D&I staff on issues impacting individuals with disabilities, to improve HHS' workforce profile and resolve processing issues related to requests for reasonable accommodation/accessibility. Developing guidance, briefing papers, recommendations for changes in policies, practices and procedures, as well as workforce presentations and training in all areas of NPPD's responsibilities to ensure compliance with Executive Order 14035 - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility in the Federal Government.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: 1. Developing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) policy and making recommendations for changes in policies, practices and procedures. 2. Serving on internal and external EEO and D&I-related committees and workgroups. 3. Providing technical assistance and advice to internal and external stakeholders, advocacy groups and EEO/D&I staff. 4. Drafting guidance, briefing papers and annual reports to lead agencies (e.g, OPM, EEOC.) 5. Developing workforce presentations and training in EEO and D&I related focus areas. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
