THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN JFHQ IN J3 5 7, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D0579000. If you would like the complete list of duties, please contact the POC of this announcement.

Duties

Develops short and long term training plans (5 years and more) for the state. Serves as state’s marksmanship coordinator. Reviews Forces Command (FORSCOM) 5 year exercise plans. Analyzes the 5 year Overseas Deployment Training (ODT) Plan. Manages Key Personnel Upgrade Program (KPUP). Manages Technical Assistance Program and Special Training Program. Develops plans and procedures for directed and nondirected training to include affiliation and split unit out-of-state. Manages Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) Program. Identifies individual, collective and team training requirements. Manages Physical Training (PT) Program. Coordinates on displaced equipment training and new equipment training with staff management officials as required. Acts for the supervisor in his/her absence. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: O1 through O4 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 01A (Immaterial) The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience that provided evidence of the ability to instruct students in the use of equipment, principles, or practices of the subject or occupation. This experience may have been gained as a teacher or instructor; in on-the-job supervision or instruction of subordinates or fellow workers; or in work involving application of the principles, practices, and techniques of the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months of experience, training, or knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. To include knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs in regard to their principles, policies, and procedures. Experienced in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products. Experiences in training program management; scheduling training events and facilities; conducting assistance visits and training meetings; work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; military personnel classification system and policies; communicative interpersonal skill applications; and distance learning concepts. Experiences as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Able to develop course syllabi, training project outlines, and daily and weekly lesson plans. Experienced in the art of instructing personnel, such as determining the instructional methods for class size and subject matter. Capable of instructing students by lectures, discussions, demonstrations, group activities, and laboratory work. Must have at least 12 months of specialized equivalent experience to the next lower grade level. Education
