You will serve as the supervisor of the continuous process improvement effort in the Process Improvement Division; Production Department of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will perform supervisory duties for personnel assigned to the process improvement team. You will evaluate and lead change related to the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of operations within the Production Department and in support processes outside the Production Department. You will analyze and evaluate (on a quantitative and qualitative basis) the effectiveness of manufacturing operations in meeting established goals and objectives. You will develop life-cycle cost analysis of projects or perform cost benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs. You will conduct studies of manufacturing process efficiency and productivity and recommend changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods, and procedures. You will develop new or modified departmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives. You will review administrative audit and investigative reports to determine appropriate changes or corrective action required. You will develop, maintain, and instruct the departmental Process Improvement training curriculum. You will provide advice, guidance, and coaching to the Production Department in the areas of project management, team development, facilitation, and problem solving.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position requires a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting qualitative or quantitative analysis of manufacturing, maintenance, or repair operations or processes to improve production efficiency, effectiveness, or quality.
