Duties

Processing receivables for land use authorizations and services. Verifying financial information related to minerals-related land use authorization processes, documents, and records. Prepare bills and related correspondence. Inspect, analyze, and verify transactions and prepare and reconcile monthly transaction and audit reports for management review and actions. Collecting and analyze financial data for DOI auditors and Inspector General staffs, law enforcement personnel, and mangers to identify possible irregularities and to resolve personnel and other issues. Analyze transactional data and detail records to ensure integrity of the accounting system and to initiate changes as needed within the State, studies and advises on accounting and financial management matters. Establish and administer program policy and procedures, including safeguarding negotiable instruments and application of management control measures. Make recommendations to managers for process revisions to resolve imbalances and discrepancies.

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples verify financial information, reconciling reports, problem solve, research, maintaining a variety of accounts, data bases, and file records, working knowledge of Collections and Billings System (CBS) and Mineral & Land Records System (MLRS). -OR- master's or equivalent graduate degree -OR- 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. -OR- LL.B. or J.D., if related Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Physical Demands: The work requires no special physical demands. It may involve some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items such as files, computer reports, or office supplies. Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting with adequate light, head and ventilation.
