About the Position: You will serve as a technical expert for the highly complex Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems located within the Washington Aqueduct. This includes establishing criteria, reviewing designs, formulating and accepting testing procedures, resolving specialized technical hardware and software problems, overseeing system installation, and all other technical coordinating required to ensure the successful deployment and operation of assigned projects.

Duties

Responsible for the sustainment of Industrial Control System components used for process monitoring and control at the Washington Aqueduct. Support the sustainment of process automation and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system and other operational technology networks. Support the cybersecurity posture, policies, and requirements to protect operational technology networks.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter
  • Incumbent may also be required to be on call back and may be required to perform emergency overtime.
  • Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as “Key” and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
  • This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 Certification within 2 years of appointment.

OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
