You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the MECHANICAL DIVISION (930), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT - CODE 900 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will organize and integrate the subject matter experts of production, engineering, quality control and other organizations deemed necessary to improve performance. You will manage and direct the efforts of other managers, supervisors, and non-supervisory employees from a variety of fields to identify and implement process and performance improvement initiatives. You will direct the evaluation of production work processes for safety, quality, efficiency, economy, and other indicators and directs or promotes Lean efforts and other initiatives to improve processes and performances. You will draw on community and shipyard resources to conduct necessary business analysis to identify strategic improvement goals and initiatives that contribute to the Shipyard's Executive planning sessions and business planning process. You will be responsible for exercising all required supervisory duties, including but not limited to: plan and assigns work to subordinate employees and evaluates employee performance.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will/may be required to obtain and maintain a current nuclear and/or radiological control qualifications.
  • You may be required to make regular visits to industrial work areas in shops, piers, dry docks, onboard ships and submarines.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating studies or assessments that analyze results to recommend process improvements that contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of production operations in a shipyard setting.
