This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Intelligence Analysis. As an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), you will be a junior member of the team that oversees, maintains, and implements the information technology work of the organization.
Duties
Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), you will:
- Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for OIA employees as well as contractors on issues related to end user applications, operating systems, network, and other IT issues.
- Perform triage on basic end user IT incidents, network issues and service requests, providing appropriate and prompt solutions.
- Manage end user accounts using a variety of software solutions.
- Maintain information or information management systems.
- Troubleshoot access issues for OIA employees and contractors for a wide variety of applications that leverage the Fiscal Service Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Application Protocol (LDAP), and Single Sign-On solutions.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the grade 05 level, you must meet the following requirements:
Experience: For the GS-05, you must have three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service. General experience includes:
- Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; AND
- Planning and organizing work; AND
- Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
OR
You may substitute education for general experience as follows: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed
below.
