This position is located in Bedford, MA within the VA Bedford Office of Research and Development.
Duties

Duties include but may not be limited to:
Ability to perform administrative tasks, coordinate with various levels of study stakeholders, support grant writing and project implementation activities.
They will be responsible for ensuring all lab purchases are made in a timely and accurate fashion.
Process all related travel for various study directors.
Serve as a liaison with other departments and offices as the main point of contact for the Center.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Uses sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion and ability to maintain confidences are essential.
Work Schedule: Term Appointment; Fulltime, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 1 yr 1 day). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4 year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
This position requires 1 year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS 6 in Federal Employment. Examples of Specialized Experience include but is not limited to: Utilizing analytical and evaluative methods to conduct program evaluation and detailed analysis of complex function/work processes.

Physical Requirements: Typically, the incumbent sits comfortably to do the work. However, the incumbent occasionally may perform a variety of work-related physical duties, including but not limited to, traveling between various offices (i.e., VA Bedford and CBOC locations in Gloucester or Lynn) carrying light/moderately heavy items (i.e., 5-20 pound items, standing in an upright position for varying lengths of time, and manual use of computer equipment for data processing.
