The incumbent will assist the Associate Chief Information Officer for Infrastructure & Operations in providing oversight and expertise in cybersecurity of all IT systems operated by or on behalf of the Department to ensure they are adequately protected and to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in order to minimize the risk of unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification or destruction.
Duties
As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Provide active coordination with the TSSSOC Director, TSSSOC Deputy Director, and OCIO leadership team on cyber security issues and policies.
Provide active coordination with the TSSSOC Director, TSSSOC Deputy Director, and OCIO leadership team on cyber security issues and policies as they relate to the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014, OMB Circular A-130, Director of National Intelligence and Department of Homeland Security Directives, and NIST, NSA, and CNSS security standards and guidelines. The incumbent will work to create new security methods and criteria for network defense and cyber security governance when needed, and act as an expert in interpreting policy and guidelines for IT Cyber Security programs.
Demonstrate effective writing techniques sufficient to prepare directives, regulations, technical instructions, assessments, reports and similar materials.

Specialized Experience for the GS-14: Specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience includes the following:
Experience supporting cyber security operations in a leadership capacity; AND
Experience directing the execution of computer security incident response procedures; AND
Experience providing technical expertise in the area of computer network defense to include network intrusion detection, network event analysis and correlation, and network flow analysis.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed
below.
