Duties

There are two positions located under the Office of Enforcement Programs and Services, National Firearms Act Division, Government Support Branch (GSB) and the Industry Processing Branch (IPB) in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The Division plans, develops, coordinates, administers and evaluates policies, programs, systems and procedures to provide for the regulation of the firearms and explosives industries, as required by the Gun Control Act of 1968, as amended; the Safe Explosives Act of 2003; the Arms Export Control Act of 1976; Title XI of the Organized Crime Control Act of 1970, as amended; the regulation of commerce in National Firearms Act (NFA) weapons; or for the administration and collection of the Special Occupational Tax for NFA. Qualifications

To qualify for 13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include: Applying knowledge and experience in the operations of the firearms and explosives industries AND Applying knowledge o related State and local laws regarding firearms and/or explosives industries AND Communicate present Bureau views to industry members, Bureau personnel, Congressional staff and other interested parties AND Formulate and implement new procedures.
