Duties
You will act as the Assistant SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS Program Director, conducting specific functions directly related to the SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS certification of submarines.
You will assist the Program Director and Deputy Program Directors in assuring proper implementation and execution of the SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS Program within SUPSHIP Groton,
You will ensure that both SUPSHIP and shipbuilder instructions, procedures, processes and quality programs fully comply with all requirements necessary to support SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS certification,
You will certify to the Supervisor of Shipbuilding that the system utilized for certification of shipbuilder work supports key events such as fast cruises, sea trials, and ship completion of other submarine related key events,
You will organize, plan, direct and audit the Supervisors of the SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS Program,
You will prepare all SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS certification messages/letters for new construction and maintenance availabilities,
You will ensure accuracy, adequacy, completeness and timeliness of internal SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS certification audits and surveys to support NAVSEA audits and surveys,
You will provide review, development, preparation and presentation of SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS training,
You will interface with personnel of various levels in the shipbuilder, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA, and fleet organizations to obtain, exchange, and present information relative to Program issues,
You will review work in progress in SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS areas, both on and offsite, including welding, mechanical, electrical, structural, and testing,
You will obtain and maintain certification as a NAVSEA SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS Certification auditor/surveyor, and participate in both NAVSEA ship certification and functional audits and surveys.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current NAVSEA SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW SCS Certification, Auditor/Surveyor.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: "Providing Quality Assurance services in support of the design, construction, overhaul or repair of nuclear submarines."
