These positions are in the Office of Air and Radiation, Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards. Qualifications

If you are applying for a grade level higher than your current grade, you must have education and experience as described below to qualify for this position: To qualify for the GS-5 level, you must meet one of the following requirements: completion of three academic years of study leading to a bachelor’s degree and one period of Intern trainee work experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level; OR completion of two and a half academic years of study leading to a bachelor’s degree and six months (at least 960 hours) of Intern work experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level. NOTE: One period of Intern work experience is the equivalent of two months (320 hours). To qualify for the GS-7 level, you must meet one of the following requirements: completion of all requirements for a bachelor’s degree and completion of one period of Intern work experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level; OR completion of four academic years of pre-professional study* and completion of one period of Intern work experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level. *Pre-professional study is academic study, credentialing, or training beyond the post-baccalaureate level that prepares an individual to practice a specific profession (e.g., Juris Doctor, Master of Science in Social Work, or Doctor of Pharmacy). NOTE: One period of Intern work experience is the equivalent of two months (320 hours).
