Serve as an Administrative Support Assistant within the Engineering Service at the VA Healthcare System at the CW Bill Young Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Duties
Major duties include but aren't limited to:
Scheduling and coordinating meetings.
Serving as a point of contact for internal and external customers and overseeing incoming and outgoing correspondences.
Assisting with the administrative orientation of new employees and clearance procedures for separating staff.
Assisting staff with administrative processes to include travel and tracking the budget for assigned program.
Conducting quality assurance and administrative reviews to include customer satisfaction surveys, work order audit, and the like.
Assisting technical staff in identifying and completing necessary documentation for all types procurement to include commodities, services, and recurring maintenance.
Work Schedule: M-F 6:30 am-3:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/30/2024.
This position requires the ability to type 40 words per minute.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Scheduling; assisting with the orientation of new employees; assisting in the preparing and tracking of a budget; identifying, investigating, and recommending potential areas of improvement; providing guidance on required documentation; interfacing with customers.
