This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Office of the Judge Advocate General, Office of Legal Policy and Program Development located in Washington, DC.
Duties
This position is responsible for researching, developing, implementing and evaluating plans, standards, policies and procedures to enhance training and professional development within the legal program for Headquarters and all field level units. The incumbent serves in an advisory role as consultant and technical advisor to senior management on training, develops and executes the legal program training.

Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Specialized Experience
You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Resume must demonstrate that you meet the specialized experience below:
Creating a variety of training products (lesson plans, job aids, course manuals, instructor guides ect.) according to written standards and guidelines; AND
Providing recommendations for a training program; AND
Assisting with the coordinating resources for training sessions (instructors, facilities, funding ect.); AND
Evaluating or revising curriculum for a training program.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
