About the Position: Serves as the Strategic Planner in the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG), responsible for the implementation of directives and analysis throughout the US Army Quartermaster School for the purpose of planning, directing, and evaluating the interrelationships essential for effective planning and operations. Anticipates issues, conducts research and analysis, and recommends strategic initiatives for major contemporary, emerging, and futuristic issues confronting the Command.
Duties
Carries out high priority assignments, studies, and projects personally assigned by the Strategic Officer on a wide variety of sensitive and confidential matters.
Analyzes current or projected operating programs to evaluate their effectiveness in meeting the organization's programs.
Presents briefings for In-Process Reviews (IPR's) on assigned projects.
Plans program objectives for new/expanded programs or missions.
Communicates effectively orally and in writing to conduct briefings to keep management informed of program changes and adverse situations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with analyzing, developing and justifying programs ensuring that objectives are met with efficient and economical methods and processes for new programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
