About the Position: Serves as a Staff Representative to the Chief of Legislative Liaison (CLL) for the Secretary of the Army on all matters concerning Congressional Travel. The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Duties

Provide internal and external coordination and communication with all stakeholders related to the implementation of travel policy, plans, and programs. Participate in staff and/or management level meetings and discussions pertaining to the activities encompassed in travel and management functions. Provide recommendations on the most efficient method of achieving Congressional travel goals and objectives. Serve as the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) and Defense Travel System (DTS) Interface Processing Monitor. Answer queries from a variety of stakeholders regarding travel procedures, policies, and/or directives. Resolve travel issues/problems and ensure financial records are reconciled and accurate.

Specialized experience is defined as: coordinate all travel matters for senior level leadership; utilize an end-to-end travel management system such as: the Defense Travel System (DTS) to manage commercial travel; analyze an airline system such as: SABRE to monitor, verify and process for upgrades and improvements; and monitors execution of the operating budget for official travel purposes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). GS-11 Specialized Experience: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: utilize an end-to-end travel management system such as: the Defense Travel System (DTS) to prepare travel reservations, receive approvals, and generate travel vouchers; provide recommendations on the most efficient method of achieving travel goals and objectives; and assist in monitoring the execution of the travel operating budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university that is directly related to the work of the position, such as Human Resources or Business Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts). OR Combination of Education and Experience:A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts) GS-9 Specialized Experience: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: provide input in execution of a travel operating budget; assist in coordinating travel matters for senior level leadership; and propose ideas that lead to achieving travel goals and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7). OR Education: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Human Resources or Business Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of education and experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
