You will serve as an Administrative Assistant (OA) for RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.

Duties

You will collect statistical data from databases to create reports for the organization. You will distribute mail to appropriate staff members in support of necessary action items. You will compile reports by extracting information from various sources. You will answer phones and directs calls to appropriate personnel. You will resolve discrepancies in personnel documents. You will compose or review correspondence ensuring correct spelling, conformance to formats, and procedural requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

O6 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Administer a variety of PC and web-based software programs including word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, email, and database programs; 2) Skill in researching files to find, gather, organize, and report on collected information; 3) Flex in shifting assignments to meet priorities; 4) General requirements needed for handling classified and sensitive materials; and 5) Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to share information, correspondence, and reports summarizing issues and/or to provide administrative support. O5 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilize a variety of PC and web-based software programs; 2) Filing processes and procedures; 3) Oral and written communication skills; 4) General requirements needed for handling classified and sensitive materials; and 5) Prepare actions/documents and records. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
