About the Position: Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the Battalion Commander and staff.

Duties

Utilize word processing software to create, edit, and/or modify various administrative documents. Utilize an automated database system to maintain program and/or financial information. Enter data into automated financial accounting systems for the obligation and/or de-obligation of funds. Track budget obligations and/or expenditures for an organization. Provide personnel with guidance on administrative management policies, procedures, and/or requirements. Assist in the preparation, consolidation, and/or completion of a variety of management reports, acquisition documents, or briefing materials.

Requirements

  • This position requires that the employee be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • This position requires a fully qualified typist. Employee must be able to type accurately a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • This position requires that the employee be able to pass and complete the U.S. Postal Services Operations Training.
  • This position requires that the employee travels away from their normal duty station temporarily up to 15% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study, such as Business Administration, Office Administration, Communications,, Human Resources Management. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
