This position is located at the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center Pacific (MIFC PAC), in Alameda, CA. 

Duties

In this position as an Intelligence Operations Specialist, you will work within the Intelligence Operations Division and perform all-source intelligence analysis on maritime security threats and issues within the US Coast Guard's Pacific Area of Responsibility/Pacific Theater. 

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A final offer of employment is contingent upon a negative drug test result.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Background Investigation is required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

At the GS-12 level: Applicants must have year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade (in the Federal sector).  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: Performing duties such as conducting, researching, analyzing a wide range of raw intelligence information. Determining which intelligence information is relevant. Drafting assessments and briefings senior officials on their intelligence findings. Analyzing of raw intelligence data. Writing intelligence collection reports and analyses. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
