This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center, Pacific, Alameda, CA.

Duties

The incumbent serves as Chief of the Analysis Section, Intelligence Operations Division (IOD) and Senior Intelligence Analyst for MIFC PAC. In that capacity, the incumbent manages military and civilian intelligence specialist who research, fuse, analyze, and assess national foreign intelligence and law enforcement intelligence relevant to operational and tactical decisions by the Vice Admiral and Commander, Coast Guard Pacific Area (PACAREA), the PACAREA staff, four USCG districts, and deployed forces. 

Requirements

  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
  • This position requires a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • Background Investigation is required.
  • This position requires a Drug Test.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14 Grade Level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Acquiring information through extensive means and alerting senior agency staff and command members to issues of or developments of special urgency or importance; Analyzing the validity, accuracy, and reliability of information received from a wide variety of sources; Preparing written contributions to interagency intelligence assessments, preparing and advocating agency position on controversial or disputed issues; Establishing key international liaison to obtain critical sources of operations intelligence; Serving as supervisor, team leader, or technical lead. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
