Duties

Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdue(s) and reserves. Assist with interlibrary loans and reserves. Shelf library materials, prepare displays and program activities. Assist customers in locating materials; and/or provide technical support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials. Assist in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Perform simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.

• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2.
• Must attend Team Member Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
• This is a flexible position. Flexible positions have no hours. A flexible employee serves in a continuing position on a scheduled or as needed basis.
• Must be willing to work: days, evenings, and weekends.
• Incumbent may also require completing a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
• Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade. OR Two years of education above high school. OR A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements. **If qualifying based on education, transcripts must be uploaded at the time of application for verification purposes.**
