You will serve as a DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND PLANS (N3) in the Operations and Plans Dept. of LCS SQUADRON 1, SAN DIEGO.

Duties

You will plan, direct and administer the operations related to the direct support for Littoral Combat Squadron (LCS) ships and crews. You will recommend and advice on matters and problems within the organization on programs, operations, and policies. You will assist in the planning, directing and supervising the work of the N3 organization. You will assist in the continuous update of the LCS Training Manual, providing oversight and cohesiveness in the certification of unit level training programs and certification of LCS crews. You will plan and control the management and productivity of programs that impact resources. You will develop schedules for operational employment of LCS Ships, crews and mission. You will monitor the training, material, maintenance, personnel, and administrative status of assigned units of LCS crews, Mission Module Detachments and LCS Ships. You will serve as a command representative at meetings and conferences dealing with long range planning of training, scheduling and certifications.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning, directing and administering the daily management of operations to support Littoral Combat ships and crew members.
