About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.

Duties

Instruct and evaluate rated and non-rated aviators in pilot and instructor pilot proficiency in the CH-47 Helicopter. Instruct and evaluate rated and non-rated aviators in the CH-47 Helicopter utilizing systems, techniques, and maneuvers. Operate the multi-engine, tandem rotor CH-47 Helicopter while instructing or evaluating crewmembers. Conduct classroom instruction on all aspects of the CH-47 to include training maneuvers, and aircraft systems, helicopter tactics and other subjects as assigned.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Implementing methods of instruction for student pilot in the CH-47 Helicopter. 2) Evaluating student pilots in all levels of development in areas such as flight maneuvers, aircraft systems and limitations, instruments flight procedures, and terrain flight. AND 3) operating the CH-47 Helicopter while instructing and evaluating the student. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Certifications: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating. Do you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating. (MUST attach a copy front & back). FAA Medical Certification: Position requires the incumbent to possess a current first or second-class medical certificate in accordance with FAA regulations at the time of appointment. (Must upload a copy of your FAA Class first or second-class medical certificate in order to be considered for this position.) Minimum Flight Hours Requirement: Total Flight Hours- 1500 Pilot in Command - 250 Night Flying - 75 Flying Time in the Last 12 Months - 100 (May be waivered, subject to approval authority) Instructor Hours - 500 Heavy Helicopter Hours - 500 (Up to 250 hours flying time acquired in heavy multi-engine airplanes may be substituted) Instrument Hours - 75 Actual Weather- 10 FLIGHT HOURS MUST BE DOCUMENTED ON THE RESUME IN THE ABOVE FORMAT.
