Duties

You will interpret the intent of financial statutes, agency regulations, and financial management regulations to provide guidance concerning accounting, budget, and financial actions You will analyze financial management system deficiencies to recommend corrective action You will analyze financial transactions or reports from the Standard Accounting, Budget and Reporting System or similar financial management system to identify problems or erroneous transactions You will monitor system transactions to ensure funds are spent in accordance with an organization's financial plan You will prepare and revise budget, accounting, and financial reports to provide program evaluation and performance information

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26
  • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Analyzing costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations; 2) Providing advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities; 3) Implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets; and 4) Analyzing financial data from a wide variety of sources to identify possible problem trends and develop corrective courses of action. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Substitution of Education for experience. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related or

combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.
