This position is in the Planning, Programs and Project Management Division (PPPMD). PPPMD is responsible for the development and execution of program budgets for general investigations (studies and pre-construction design work), general construction (projects in construction), operation and maintenance, flood control and coastal emergencies and general regulatory appropriations. PPPMD project managers lead multi-disciplinary teams to study, design, construct and maintain the district's projects.
Duties
Performs administrative and office automation tasks for the staff of Planning, Programs and Project Management Division (Division) with direct supervision under the Administrative Officer.
Plans and carries out responsibilities in accordance with a wide variety of established rules, regulations and locally maintained Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs reviews and formatting edits of various types of documents and memorandums.
Develops, spreadsheets, charts, graphs and presentation material for data call reporting, and briefings.
Plans, coordinates and accomplishes a variety of program support tasks such as preparation and data gathering and special reports for their assigned Branch.
Performs training related duties, in coordination with other administrative staff as necessary to ensure training requests are processed, paid and documented on the tracking tool.
Initiates and Compiles the annual training needs survey.

Specialized Experience GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Experience with an automated application suite such as Microsoft Office for editing text for grammar, punctuation, and utilizing Access, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications for various tracking, and meeting support functions; and 2) Experience with general office responsibilities such as filing, data input, routing phone calls, and coordinating meetings and visitors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing guidance to and assisting organizational personnel on administrative matters such as travel, training, correspondence, timekeeping, property and supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
