The Office of Protection Services ensures the safety and security of employees, visitors and the objects entrusted to the National Gallery. This position serves as the system administrator and manages the multi-function Security Command Center (SCC) consisting of electronic and computer-based monitoring, control, dispatching, and communication systems used for the analysis, dissemination, and documentation of information critical in providing protection for the National Gallery.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-0080-12. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, providing oversight and direction to an organization’s security function or sub-function. Rather, you must show in your résumé how your past work experience demonstrates that you possess the KSAs identified below. If asked to do so, cite specific examples of employment or experience contained in your resume and describe how this experience has prepared you to successfully perform the duties of this position. DO NOT write "see resume" in your application! Those applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be evaluated against these factors to determine the best-qualified candidates. Ability to supervise operational security component staff. Skill in administering a physical security function. Ability to mitigate risk for an organization. Knowledge of accessing electronic crime databases and software applications.
