This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in the Budget Formulation and Appropriations Division of OJP and is responsible for managing budget formulation operations for programs spanning criminal and juvenile justice-related science, statistics, and programmatic areas. The incumbent is also responsible for research, analysis and advisory assignments related to OJP's budget development process.

Qualifications
Minimum Federal Qualification Requirements:Grade 13:Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.Examples of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 include preparing budget formulation estimates and justifications for major substantive programs; preparing written consolidated justifications for a national program and compiled material for program and resource enhancements; analyzed major program changes and projected budget, and prepared detailed data-driven studies; developed strategies and responses to defend an agency's budgetary request and programmatic requirements to Congress; directed budget formulation for an entire agency and implemented new strategies to improve budget formulation policies and practices.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications.-Ability to provide technical assistance and consultation on financial and/or auditing matters.-Ability to gather, compile, and analyze financial and/or programmatic information.-Ability to perform budget call activities.-Ability to communicate in writing.-Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.-Knowledge of the federal budget process and financial management practices and procedures.-Ability to apply analytical methods and techniques to identify and resolve financial and/or auditing issues.Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: https://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/indexes/num-ndx.aspAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
