About the Position: This position is in the Naval Medical Center Office of Dir of Nursing, San Diego, California. San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Immense Balboa Park is the site of the San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, art studios museums and gardens. A deep harbor is the Home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.

Duties

Serve as the primary point of contact for various clinic schedulers supporting 1000 surgical cases per month. Provides education, administration, and analysis of surgical management system. Maintain 18-room surgical templates as needed to meet mission and resource. Track trends that affect Main Operating room utilization and devises plan to change processes to maximize utilization. Maintain billing receipts in secure file for auditing purposes.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 10 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
