Duties

Responsible for training department personnel in the creation of classes, managing local student enrollments, producing educational reports, managing internal student class enrollments and providing technical assistance as needed. Responsible for training all department personnel in the use of Defense Medical Human Resources System-Internet (DMHRSi) Self Service for employee timecard functions, Ensure higher authority guidelines are followed and data is accurately entered and updated for the 6,400 personnel assigned to the medical center. Coordinate the work of two to four military enlisted personnel (pay grades E-3 to E5) assigned to the Professional Development Division. Develop innovative techniques and solutions that require a high degree of originality and creative planning, designing experiments, developing methodologies or extension of existing theory to new and unusual problems. Coordinator of Budget and Supply Services. Contract Officer Representative (COR) for the following service agreements and maintenance contracts in support of the Department’s mission. Serve as liaison for facilities issues. Monitor and maintain automated records providing status of all charts of accounts within the Department. Direct and perform research, identify significant changes, and determine related transactions and causes. Serve as primary resource for all matters related to departmental supplies and equipment. Review all request for supplies and equipment by departmental personnel. Maintain current knowledge required to complete reports, requests and authorizations for support and services including printing, contracts, supplies and maintenance. Coordinate Clerical Services. Responsible for Staff Education and Training Department (SEAT) clerical functions and preparations of required correspondence, memoranda, and reports of a narrative or statistical nature from rough draft. Maintain an accurate filing system of correspondence, reports and technical material related to the division operations and functions. Receive telephone calls and visitors, independently screens calls and visitors and refers those which in the incumbent’s judgement can be handled appropriately by subordinate staff or other divisions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations ( the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
