Duties
Serving as a Physical Security Specialist GS-0080-13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. These positions are located within the Chief Security Office under the Deputy Director's Office in Glynco, GA, Artesia, NM and Cheltenham, MD.

- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Current and former federal employees within the General Schedule (GS) must meet the time-in-grade requirements outlined in the "Qualifications" section of this announcement.
- Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
- This position is eligible for situational-only telework based on agency policy.
- Must successfully pass a T5 background investigation for eligibility and/or access to classified national security information at the Special Sensitive level.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Overtime may be required.
- Required to undergo initial and random drug testing for illegal drug use. Employment is contingent upon favorable results.
- You will carry a firearm and will be subject to the Lautenberg Amendment. The appointment to this position of a person convicted of state or federal misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence is prohibited.
- This position requires the selectee to meet and maintain all applicable requirements to carry a firearm under 40 U.S.C § 1315.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Federal Acquisition Certification - Contracting Officer Representative (FAC- COR) Level III certification.
- Required to complete an OGE 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, within 30 days of starting your federal employment and
annually thereafter as long as you occupy a position that requires financial disclosure reporting.
- Must be able to meet job-related medical and/or fitness standards. Subject to an initial and annual physical examination that measures. visual, hearing, and physical acuity.
- This position is Emergency Essential required to sustain operations under all conditions such as in the event of a localized emergency situation and to ensure Continuity of Operations the FLETC.
- Must pass an initial pistol firearms proficiency and qualification course of fire with an approved FLETC qualification course as directed by the FLETC CSO. Must achieve an 80% score, which equates to 240 points out of a possible of 300 points.

Specialized Experience must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service leading and conducting activities that support the development, implementation and management of an enterprise-wide physical security program. Such experience includes providing technical expertise regarding security posture, technology, tactics, and other physical security-related subjects; advising senior management on a variety of matters pertaining to security practices and policies; developing security business practices and standard operating procedures based on the interpretation of various security laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines; and overseeing security reviews and audits. Time-in-Grade: Current and former GS federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
