About the Position: This position is located in the 554th Engineer Battalion, Horizontal Skills Division, U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Responsible for maintaining accountability for all property book and durable equipment for the Horizontal Skills Training Division. Initiate all supply actions within the Horizontal Skills Training Division. Assist the Company and Battalion logisticians in supply actions. Store supplies and secure and control equipment stored within supply areas. Operate Government-owned vehicle in order to accomplish pickup and/or turn in of property and equipment. Prepare a variety of status and recurring reports.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • Must attend and complete the International Merchant Purchase Authorization Card (IMPAC) training to be able to purchase supply and services using the IMPAC bank card.
  • This position requires the incumbent to pass a pre-employment physical examination; an annual physical or medical surveillance examination may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: purchasing supplies and equipment; processing requisitions; receiving incoming shipments; initiate outgoing shipments, storing and securing supply items; utilizing computer database system to initiate supply actions; purchasing supplies and equipment using a government purchase card system; and operating a motor vehicle in the delivery/pick-up of supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)ReadingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
