National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.
Duties
Identifies linkages with college strategy and objectives. Builds and maintains relationships with key information and cyberspace leaders and organizations.
Manages social media presence, represents the College on the NDU Outreach Council, and coordinates with the NDU PAO/Director of Strategic Communications.
Leads engagement activities, including developing products, agendas, and hosting visits and events, to include major college conferences and activities. Works with outside organizations, including media/press representatives, product/service vendors, COCOMS, and with international contacts for tours and meetings at the college.
Acts as liaison with the military services, other DoD and federal agencies, and the defense industry concerning participation in the projects and educational offerings. Initiatives include managing master's and doctorate-level partnerships, supporting the Director of the CIO Leadership Development Program, and assisting the Chancellor, Deans, and Department Chairs with meetings and events.
Helps establish strategic direction, implements actions to meet the mission, and provides critical information and guidance to students, faculty/staff, and stakeholders.
Continuously reviews, analyzes, and evaluates effectiveness of organization changes in support of the CIC, and makes decisions and actions to lead to intended outcomes.
Performs strategic planning of operations and establishes appropriate internal controls. Participates with representatives of higher authority within the college and university, other governmental agencies, and commands on planning future operational changes, as well as new policies and procedures.
Teaches lessons as directed in residence at NDU and online using Blackboard in relevant courses based on areas of expertise. Works with other faculty and staff members to contribute to CIC courses and programs overall.
Contributes to curriculum and lesson materials as related to the CIC core competency areas, with a desired focus on strategic cyberspace and information operations. Brings real - world experience to classroom environments as a lesson leader and curriculum developer.
Analyzes statistics and information, highlights trend and makes appropriate recommendations to the college leadership. Develops high-level reports and briefing on the progress of each educational project and engagement.
Supervises the preparation and distribution of final reports and briefings. Administers strategic engagements' records and databases to track project issues, progress, and metrics. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally. Travel is seldom required. Less than 20 % of the time.
- The incumbent must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must:
An earned master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or, international equivalent.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience with strategic engagement, education, and partnerships.
Relevant academic and/or senior professional experience in a field appropriate to the cyber and information mission.
Proven record of successful leadership.

Education
Education Requirement: An earned Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent).
