The Program Support Assistant position is at the full performance level located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare Center in the Research Service. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the project assistant for primary care research projects in the Health Services Research's Center of Innovation. The position reports to the Principal Investigator.
Duties
Major Duties:
Executes office automation functions such as production of study documents, organization of electronic files to facilitate easy identification and retrieval, formats reports, generates memoranda and transmits study data (i.e., analytic files, manuscripts, reports, etc.).
The position assists with survey research data collection and data entry. The position encodes data received from in-person and telephone surveys for subsequent data entry into the computer, including range checks, verification of patient information as needed.
Programs data collection instruments (surveys) through Word, Adobe Acrobat, and VA Redcap. Tests data collection instruments for respondent ease and efficiency.
Develops data management details to monitor numerous systems for tracking and managing data, including logbooks, flow charts, master calendars, and electronic databases.
The position evaluates the need for additional supplies and equipment against available fund and supply level, and drafts proposal to the Director or Approving Official for approval prior to submitting to logistics.
The position is responsible for monitoring the procurement process from beginning till the installation of the equipment or delivery of the requested supply, while providing updates to the Director and Approving Official.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience in training with quality improvement. Experience in programs data collection instruments (surveys) through Word, Adobe Acrobat, and VA Redcap and providing testing data collection instruments for respondent ease and efficiency.

Education
