Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for Victim Witness Program and Victim Witness Staff with a wide variety of services, including in-court support during hearings and trials. Typical work assignments will include:
Assists federal prosecutors, agents and witnesses in coordinating witness travel.
Reconciles GTA travel accounts, maintains MOU files.
Maintains travel itinerary binders, electronic files and communicates caseload with victim witness unit staff as needed, including other duties (special needs victim/witness court support as appropriate).
Reviews and communicates with office personnel relative to OBD-2 witness entitlements and DOJ-3 Fact Witness Vouchers.
Travels to federal courthouses within CAC to ensure Fact Witness Vouchers are updated and available to trial teams and fact witnesses.
Facilitates advance fees with USMS when appropriate.
Establishes and maintains relationships with hotels in CAC for various lodging options of fact witnesses.
Overtime work is required on a regular basis.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.

Qualifications
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
To be qualified at the GS-08 grade level: All applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is experience which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is described as experience with and knowledge of the Department of Justice travel guidelines and policies; preparing travel request for victims-witness or as an arranger; assisting with responding to inquiries, utilizing office automation to produce and prepare correspondence and data reporting; maintaining accurate records. Knowledge of the Victim Witness program.
