About the Position: This position is located in the Department of obstetrics/gynecology. at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) with the Defense Health Agency, Indo-Pacific Market.

Duties
Conducts intake procedures obtains general medical information, including allergies and drug sensitivities; and takes and records vital signs.
Utilize diagnostic tools,e.g., stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, peak flow meter, glucometer etc., to obtain and/or validate observations.
Prepare patients for tests, examinations, treatment, or minor surgery; assists patients as needed and provides for comfort and safety; and moves patients to x-ray rooms or toother treatment locations in the hospital.
Draw blood, collects and prepares specimens such as routine urine, stool, sputum, and cultures for laboratory analysis; provides ostomy, stoma care, and education to patients and staff.
Provide health care to a range of patients presenting with complex or multiple systems dysfunctions and/or disorders.
Respond as a member of the emergency response team (ERT) for medical emergencies.
Act as liaison between patients and the primary professional medical care provider.
Ensure medical records are prepared and available.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Incumbent may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying work schedules.

Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience which includes performing duties such. As emergency room, surgery, ob/gyn, neurology, hemo/oncology, cardiology. The medical duties performed do not require the knowledge and skills represented by the licensure of practical/vocational nursing training or full professional nurse education. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the position, such as, Healthcare, Patient Care.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
