You will serve as a RANGE & SIMULATIONS OFFICER in the COMBAT SYSTEMS SUPPROT DIRECTORATE (N9), RANGE and SIMULATIONS DIVISION (N96) of NAVAL SPECIAL WARQARE DEVELOPMENT GROUP (NSWDG).

Duties

You will serve as the Range and Simulations Officer and is responsible for planning, coordination, oversight, technological development, MILCON planning, and management of the Military Operations Urban Traning (MOUT) facility. You will conduct assessments and inspections of construction, maintenance, and repair activities, and the condition and readiness of ranges and other command training facilities including a target training ship used for maritime SOF exercises. You will research and plan technological upgrades for all ranges and simulators and subsequent test and evaluation processes. You will serve as the expert technical authority, consultant, and advisor with responsibility for overall program management, administration, planning, regulatory compliance, technological upgrades, capability design and maritime ranges. You will be responsible for planning and analyzing requirements for equipment, infrastructure, utilities, electronic devices and equipment, and technological advances as well as the effectiveness and procurement of tactical mobility. You will develop, establish, and implements Department of Defense (DoD), United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Naval Special Warfare Command (NAVSPECWARCOM) and NSWDG programs associated with special purpose ranges and simulators.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent must maintain currency in Contracting Officer Representative Certification.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Mastery of advanced management and organizational functions, processes, principles, methods, and procedures in unique specialty range and simulation operations is essential with a comprehensive knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting regulations, guidelines, and processes.
